It says many things:  Primarily, how important it is to be mindful of the present and to take care of what we have.  But it also describes how we, the inventors of both the microscope and the telescope, who split the atom and measured the breadth of the universe, are both poets and scientists, philosophers and annalists and that to maintain that balance, we must take care, not just of the larger things, but also of the seemigly less important parts of our lives and of our planet ... down to the tiniest grain of sand.
